ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Anthony Barmes earned Missouri Valley Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this season while Isaac Basten took home MVC Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors, the league announced on Wednesday, April 19.
Barmes bettered his own MVC men's hammer throw record (70.53m/231' 5") to win the Jim Duncan Invitational on Friday (April 14) and become the first MVC thrower to ever reach 70m. He set the meet record with a throw that ranks ninth in the NCAA and second in the Midwest region.
