ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Pioneer Football League recognized a record 733 student-athletes to the 2023 PFL Academic Honor Roll. The Drake football team accounted for 75 of the honorees, the third-highest number recognized in Drake program history.
The league average of 66.6 student-athletes per school also broke a record set following the Fall 2022 season.
Drake joined Davidson, Dayton, Morehead State, St. Thomas and Marist as programs with 70 or more student-athletes placed on the league's Academic Honor Roll.
Pioneer Football League athletic director and coaches established the honor roll in 2001 as a way to recognize the league's outstanding student-athletes.
