Yankees 5, Tigers 4: Late rally unable to overcome bullpen's 7th inning implosion

Oh, that bullpen.

DETROIT -- Matt Boyd was stellar through five, but the bullpen blew it all up. The Detroit Tigers' offense clawed their way back to within one run and threatened to tie it in the ninth, but they ultimately lost 5-4 to the New York Yankees.

For the second straight game, a Tigers starter took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, and this time Boyd was perfect until a two-out walk in the fifth. He retired 14 consecutive batters until that walk, and maintained a low pitch count throughout.
