Compete with Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh? No way.
Lincoln Trail (Ill.) Community College baseball coach Kevin Bowers figured it was bad news when he saw a post on Twitter that Jordan Brewer, a three-sport athlete from St. Joseph, was with Harbaugh on a recruiting visit.
“I saw the picture and I turned to my assistant and I’m like, ‘Well, this one is done,’ ’’ Bowers remembers saying. “‘He’s going to play some football. We aren’t going to win a war over Jim Harbaugh.’”
Brewer, a wide receiver, planned to walk-on at U-M, his dream school, but that plan changed after he dislocated his shoulder.
