What to expect for this weekend's celebration of the 1968 Tigers

DETROIT -- Fifty years ago, the Detroit Tigers were world champions after beating the St. Louis Cardinals in a memorable seven-game World Series.

The 1968 team is being honored this weekend at Comerica Park as the Tigers play the Cardinals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Here's your guide to the festivities and give-aways.

Friday, 7:10 p.m.

The first 10,000 fans will receive a pair of "Sockit to 'em" socks. The band Serieux will perform Motown classics at Big Cat Court before the game. The ceremonial first pitches will be thrown by Wayne Comer, Tom Matchick, Dick Tracewski, Jon Warden and Don Wert.
