Watch this: Detroit Tigers slam four home runs in first inning in Pittsburgh

The Detroit Tigers scored a season-high 17 runs on Friday night.

And the offense carried over to Saturday.

Against Pirates left-hander Derek Holland, the Tigers hit four home runs in the first inning. It's the first time since July 29, 1974, that the Tigers opened a game with that many homers.

Leadoff hitter Niko Goodrum, a switch hitter batting right-handed, got the party started with a shot to left on the second pitch of the game. It was his second home run of the season.

Then, after Jonathan Schoop singled, Miguel Cabrera smashed his fourth of the season to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead.
