LAKELAND, Fla. -- They won't be playing games in the Grapefruit League, but there will be another training camp in Florida this spring.

The MLB Players Association will reportedly open a camp for unsigned free agents at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

The stage has been set for a contentious spring that has raised serious (although probably ill-founded) fears of a work stoppage for the first time in more than two decades.

It's not clear how many of the roughly 100 or so big-league free agents will participate in the camp.
