U-M alum Ryan LaMarre hits first MLB home run against Detroit Tigers

DETROIT -- Jackson native Ryan LaMarre will never forget his first MLB home run.

The former University of Michigan standout outfielder and Jackson Lumen Christi graduate gave his Chicago White Sox a 4-3 second-inning lead over the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday, connecting on a 2-0 pitch and sending it over the left field fence at Comerica Park.

It was LaMarre's first MLB home run in 168 career plate appearances, and it came in his home state. He pointed to his jubilant family in the stands while crossing home plate, which was shown on the Fox Sports Detroit telecast.
