Minneapolis — Through the first 10 games of the season, the Tigers’ starting pitchers allowed just 10 earned runs.
Those were the days.
When Jordan Zimmermann left the game Sunday after allowing five runs in three innings in the 6-4 loss to the Twins, the same starting pitchers had given up 17 runs in the last five games. Nine of those are on Zimmermann’s ledger.
And the Twins hit him hard. Five of their hits left the bat at exit velocities better than 100 mph, including a two-run, line-drive home run by C.
