Detroit — All losses are bad losses at this point for the Tigers. But the sting from this one may linger for an extra minute.
The Tigers wasted a surprisingly strong outing by Anibal Sanchez and lost to the Minnesota Twins for the first time in eight games, 6-2, Tuesday.
The beleaguered Sanchez left to a standing ovation with two on and nobody out in the top of the seventh. He struck out a season-high 10 batters in six innings, and left with Tigers down 1-0.
Before the half-inning ended, the cheers had turned to boos and the Twins had blown the game open.
