Tigers trade for playoff-tested veteran, deal former first-rounder at deadline buzzer

The Detroit waited until the very last minute, but were able to get a deal done with the Baltimore Orioles just before the MLB trade deadline expired at 6 p.m. ET on Thursday. According to ESPN's Jeff Passan, the Tigers gave their starting rotation a boost with the addition of veteran starting pitcher Charlie Morton.

Detroit is well out in front of the AL Central, and has one of the best records in all of baseball. But fans are still likely to be a little disappointed with the marginal upgrades Scott Harris and the Tigers front office made at this year's trade deadline.
