St. Petersburg, Fla. — Riley Greene led off the seventh inning with an infield single off Tampa Bays reliever Colin Poche for the Tigers' first hit Sunday in the series finale at Tropicana Field.
Rays starter Jeffrey Springs had held the Tigers without a hit through the first six innings, fanning 12. The lefthander only allowed a second-inning walk to Nick Maton, as the Rays built a 4-0 lead.
It continued a tough opening weekend for the Tigers' bats, with just two runs scored combined in two-plus games, both losses.
