Right around the time Tigers fans get sick of the winter, the Tigers will provide the first glimpse of spring. They’ll open their 2018 Spring Training schedule on Thursday, Feb. 22 at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium with their annual exhibition against Florida Southern College.
The exhibition opens an 18-game schedule in Lakeland, the Spring Training home of the Tigers for the 82nd season, the last 53 of them at Joker Marchant Stadium — the longest current relationship between a Major League team and its Spring Training home city.
The Tigers’ Grapefruit League home slate begins on Saturday, Feb.
