LAKELAND, Fla. — Daniel Stumpf was a reliable left-handed reliever for the Detroit Tigers in 2017. Heading into this season, he is working on a change-up in an attempt to be more effective against right-handed hitters this season.
“Last year, he was a two-pitch guy — fastball and slider,” Tigers catcher James McCann said of Stumpf.
