DETROIT -- With Alex Avila mired in a slump, James McCann will get a rare start at catcher against a right-handed pitcher for the Detroit Tigers.
The rest of the starting nine is the Tigers' normal against righties, with Alex Presley again getting a start in right field and batting second.
Avila is 4-for-32 with 13 strikeouts over his last 12 games.
Anibal Sanchez will pitch for the Tigers.
