Tigers rally past Sox, extinguish 3-game skid

Detroit – At last, a spark.

After scoring four runs in 34 innings, three of them on solo home runs, the Tigers finally strung a few hits together, scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning and beat the Red Sox 4-3 Thursday afternoon, snapping a three-game skid.

Down 3-1, Ian Kinsler singled and Erick Aybar doubled off reliever Junichi Tazawa. Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez followed with RBI singles to tie the game.

Side-arming right-hander Brad Ziegler walked J.D. Martinez to load the bases, but then got Casey McGehee to force an out at the plate and stuck out Jarrod Saltalamacchia.
