CINCINNATI -- The Detroit Tigers' quest for .500 will have to wait at least a few more days.
Joey Votto hit a grand slam in the third inning as the Cincinnati Reds beat the Tigers 9-5 Tuesday night at Great American Ballpark. The Tigers snapped a five-game winning streak and spoiling their chance of reaching the .500 mark for the first time in more than two months.
After two smooth innings, Tigers starter Matthew Boyd loaded the bases on two walks and a single. Then Votto cranked a deep fly ball that was tracked by Tigers right fielder Nicholas Castellanos.
