Tigers prospects Dawel Lugo, Christin Stewart shine in Mud Hens loss

The Indians jumped on Toledo start Paul Voelker early, scoring five runs in the top of the first inning to open up a big lead. Toledo’s offense battled back over the next few innings to close the gap to one run, but Mud Hens reliever James Russell coughed up four runs in the top of the fourth. The Indians maintained their five-run lead for the middle innings, and scored a 10th run in the top of the eighth before Toledo continued Monday’s #FalseHope narrative with a three-run eighth.

Dawel Lugo and Christin Stewart led the way for the Mud Hens, combining for five of the team’s 10 hits.
