The Mud Hens got to former Tigers farmhand Adam Wilk early, scoring three runs in the first two innings. Chad Huffman hit an RBI triple to get Toledo on the board in the first, while catcher John Hicks hit his second home run of the year in the second. The Mud Hens would tack on insurance runs later, but they would not be needed. Toledo starter Chad Bell was effectively wild, walking five in five shutout innings.
