Derek Hill, the Detroit Tigers’ first-round pick in 2014, is in Texas today to meet with Dr. Keith Meister, director of TMI Sports Medicine & Orthopedics.
Hill suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament while making a throw with his right arm from the outfield in a game Aug. 8, according to Dave Littlefield, the Tigers’ director of player development.
“He made a throw late in the game from the outfield, nothing out of the ordinary, and just felt something,” Littlefield said. “A sensation that was awkward and different. So we did some testing on site there with the trainer.
