Here we go! After a few weeks in which nearly ever major draft outlet projected that the Detroit Tigers were near locks to take prep outfielder Riley Greene in June’s MLB draft, Baseball America’s latest mock is going in a different direction. This time around, Greene goes fourth to the Miami Marlins, while the Tigers take Vanderbilt outfielder J.J. Bleday.
Let’s get right to the fun part. Bleday, a 21-year-old who was previously drafted in the 39th round by the San Diego Padres in 2016, is a well-rounded corner outfielder who has hit for average throughout his career at Vanderbilt.
