DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers are placing outfielder Alex Presley on the 10-day disabled list with a side injury.
They have recalled outfielder Jim Adduci from Triple-A Toledo to replace him.
Presley has been receiving most of the at-bats in right field since the Tigers traded J.D. Martinez last week.
Adduci, a left-handed batter like Presley, will now take Presley's spot.
Presley, 32, has hit .313 (31-for-99) in 34 games with the Tigers this year.
He appeared to wince after a swing last week. Manager Brad Ausmus and athletic trainer Kevin Rand came out to check on him, but he stayed on the game and has attempted to play through it since then.
