The health care woes of the Detroit Tigers continued during their Thursday afternoon spring training game at Joker Marchant Stadium. Pitcher Travis Wood, who was acquired in a minor league deal at the end of January, was injured during a rundown in a double play.
Wood, who made waves earlier this spring by showing up to spring camp with a pin in his finger from a crossbow hunting accident, went to the grass following the rundown, and according to MLive’s Evan Woodbery was “writhing on the ground” before limping off the field on his own, rather than being taken out on the cart.
