Tigers lose 5th straight, Miguel Cabrera ties Lou Gehrig on hits list

Daniel Norris, in the midst of a resurgence with the Detroit Tigers, took a small step back in Friday night’s 7-2 loss to the Oakland Athletics.

Norris (2-2), who began the season in the bullpen and has pitched well since joining the starting rotation, went 5u2153 innings and allowed six earned runs on seven hits and a walk. He allowed two home runs and threw a wild pitch.

Entering the game with a respectable 3.63 ERA, Norris threw 94 pitches, 61 for strikes, and struck out two. His ERA rose to 4.50 in the loss.
