LAKELAND, Fla. — On the final page of a white legal pad, these words written in permanent marker were unmistakable: “SPRING’S OVER.”
Of course, manager Ron Gardenhire and his Tigers are not quite there yet.
But with only a minor league exhibition and Tuesday's Grapefruit League finale against the Rays left on the team’s spring schedule, the end is in sight. And, one day after incurring a pair of season-opening injuries, the Tigers appeared to be close to finalizing their roster.
