CHICAGO -- How much trust did Ron Gardenhire put in Joe Jimenez on Thursday night?
For one, he stuck the 23-year-old in a tie game in the bottom of the ninth, knowing just one mistake could spoil the Detroit Tigers' remarkable comeback.
He did so knowing the heart of the White Sox order -- Jose Abreu, Matt Davidson and Yolmer Sanchez -- were due up.
And he did so knowing that trio combined to go 4-for-5 against Jimenez during his rocky rookie campaign in 2017, including a double, home run and three RBIs.
"Obviously, last year I would say they got me," Jimenez said.
