Special to The Detroit News
Michael Lorenzen had a rocky second inning Friday night against the Colorado Rockies, and it was too much for the Detroit Tigers to overcome in an 8-5 loss in Denver.
The Rockies touched Lorenzen for five runs on five hits in second inning to take a 5-0 lead. The Tigers responded with a run in the third and two in the fourth, but the Rockies added a three-run sixth to take control again in the series opener.
The Tigers drop to 35-46.
