Tigers call up Mud Hens closer Guido Knudson

Detroit – The Tigers, in need of some fresh arms in the bullpen, have reportedly purchased the contract of Toledo Mud Hens closer Guido Knudson.

As first reported by the Erie Times-News, Knudson is expected to join the Tigers in time for the game against the Rangers on Thursday night.

The Tigers bullpen has thrown 15 innings in the last three games.

The Tigers had an open spot on their 40-man roster, so another player won't have to be released.

As for a spot on the 25-man roster, the Tigers are expected to place starting pitcher Daniel Norris on the disabled list with an oblique strain.
