The Detroit Tigers’ rightfielder was a big winner today, taking home the American League Silver Slugger Award for outfield and the Tiger of the Year Award.
Martinez is a first-time winner of both awards.
He was joined in the win column by first baseman Miguel Cabrera, who, despite missing a chunk of the season with a left calf injury, won his sixth career Silver Slugger Award.
