DETROIT -- Dixon Machado is starting at shortstop for the Detroit Tigers in their series opener Friday night against the Houston Astros.
Jose Iglesias, who has been the subject of trade rumors, is not in the lineup. The Tigers had an off-day on Thursday, so this would not normally be a day in which Iglesias is rested.
Andrew Romine will start in right field instead of Alex Presley with left-handed Dallas Keuchel on the mound for the Astros.
