It was apparent that, early in Casey Mize’s third major-league start, he couldn’t quite figure out his command. His fastball was mostly sitting in the low 90s, and he bounced some and walked some more. His splitter wasn’t splitting, his fastball wasn’t fooling anyone, and the pitch count climbed high early on with some lengthy at-bats.
