Spencer Turnbull had one of his best outings of the young season, and Niko Goodrum hit a two-run home run. Those two, plus a little bit of wind, helped the Detroit Tigers clinch a 3-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday. The victory snapped a four-game losing streak, and brought the Tigers to 3-4 on their current road trip.
The Phillies drew first blood, plating a run off Turnbull in the bottom of the first. Andrew McCutchen led off the inning with a single, then advanced to second base on a wild pitch.
