Spenser Watkins loses a no-hitter in the ninth inning

The Hens jumped out to an early lead and then poured on the offense late after the bullpen melted down to earn the win in this one. Ronny Rodriguez got things going in the first, turning on an Aaron Slegers’ offering and planting it over the wall in left for a three-run homer. Drew VerHagen took it from there, allowing just one run in six innings of work. VerHagen came out in the seventh but after a Jacob Robson error in left field and two one-out single, he was lifted for John Schreiber who allowed a sacrifice fly that tied the game.
