Sharp: Tigers would have advantage for Monday's game

The clouds opened up again a little before 3:30 Thursday. The dedicated — or maybe the delusional — that came to Comerica Park for the regularly scheduled Tigers’ home finale without an umbrella headed for cover. Still hopeful that a game was coming once the heavens finally smiled upon the schedule makers. There might have been a couple thousand in the ballpark at that time.

But there was no political cover for Major League Baseball.

It made absolutely no sense that, 4 hours after the scheduled start of the crucial series finale between the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians, anyone still thought they could play this game amid the almost historic rainfall for the metropolitan Detroit region in the previous 24 hours.
