Brad Ausmus is coming back to manage the Detroit Tigers.
Which means several things.
First of all, it is an indication that Tigers owner Mike Ilitch trusts general manager Al Avila and the direction of this franchise. It is a vote of confidence in Avila and the rest of the front office.
Second, it means that Avila has faith in Ausmus, and that’s hardly a surprise. Avila brought back Ausmus last season, even though it went against public opinion.
Third, it means that the players in the clubhouse still support Ausmus, which, again, is not a surprise.
