ANAHEIM, Calif. — On Wednesday afternoon, within an hour of the trade deadline — and, in one case, 40-odd seconds — the Detroit Tigers acquired four prospects for two of their trade chips.

In exchange for closer Shane Greene, the Tigers received left-hander Joey Wentz and outfielder Travis Demeritte from the Atlanta Braves. In exchange for right fielder Nicholas Castellanos, they received right-handers Paul Richan and Alex Lange.

The quartet comes to Detroit as further depth in their minor-league system. Though none profile as impact players, they could play roles in the future of the team’s rebuilding process.
