Sandy Baez could make his MLB debut on Monday vs. Yankees

DETROIT -- Detroit Tigers rookie right-hander Sandy Baez could make his Major League debut on Monday against the New York Yankees.

Baez posted a message on Instagram suggesting he had been called up to the big leagues. He later deleted the post.

The Tigers have said Mike Fiers (4-3, 4.45 ERA) will start Game 2 of Monday's day-night doubleheader against the Yankees at Comerica Park. The Game 1 starter is undecided.

Artie Lewicki will start Tuesday's series opener at Boston.

Baez, 24, has posted a 3.90 ERA in 55 1/3 innings at Double-A Erie, striking out 45 and walking 19.
