DETROIT -- Three Detroit Tigers are finalists for Silver Slugger Awards, with rookie Kevin McGonigle in the running at two positions.
McGonigle, who is a finalist at shortstop and utility, is joined by outfielder Riley Greene and catcher Dillon Dingler among the American League finalists announced Thursday.
The winners will be announced Nov. 17.
The Silver Slugger Award, presented by Louisville Slugger, recognizes the top offensive performers in each league. MLB managers and coaches select 10 winners in each league: one catcher, one player at each infield position, three outfielders, one designated hitter and one utility player.
