Matthew Boyd and Eric Haase power Hens to victory on Tuesday

Matthew Boyd’s final rehab outing went well, and so did Eric Haase’s rehab appearance. Boyd one-hit the Saints for 4 13 innings, striking out six with no walks, to show the young’uns what big league pitching looks like. Meanwhile, Riley Greene led off the bottom of the first with a walk, and Eric Haase mashed a two-run shot—off former Tigers’ prospect Beau Burrows, no less—to provide the margin of victory on a night in which pitching ruled.

Boyd threw 56 pitches in this one. Will Vest, Locke St. John, and Bryan Garcia took it the rest of the way, with Garcia picking up the save.
