Top 6th: Scherzer strikes out side
Nationals starter Max Scherzer kept his foot on the gas pedal in the top of the sixth. He got Tigers starter Jordan Zimmermann to ground out to shortstop, before getting Ian Kinsler and J.D. Martinez to strike out swinging. Scherzer has 13 strikeouts through six innings, and going to the bottom of the sixth the game is tied 1-1.
Bottom 5th: Pitcher's duel continues
The pitcher's duel between Tigers starter Jordan Zimmermann and Nationals starter Max Scherzer continued in the bottom of the fifth inning. Zimmermann rolled through the 1-2-3 inning, getting Scherzer to ground out to shortstop Jose Iglesias with one out.
