Top 6th: M's break scoreless tie
With two on (Robinson Cano single with one out), two outs and a full count in the top of the sixth inning, Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager crushed a two-run home run to right field, breaking the 0-0 tie. Tigers starter Justin Verlander got the third out without further trouble, but after five and a half, the Mariners have a 2-0 lead over the Tigers.
Bottom 5th: McCann singles, stranded
James McCann singled with one out in the bottom of the fifth inning, but that was the only offense for the Tigers against Mariners starter James Paxton -- who is dealing.
