Red Sox starter Steven Wright worked a 1-2-3 top of the third inning. He struck Victor Martinez out to lead off the third inning. Nick Castellanos then flew out to right fielder Mookie Betts before Justin Upton grounded to Wright to end the half inning. Going to the bottom of the third, the Tigers are on top, 4-0.

Tigers starter Mike Pelfrey continues to pitch well early in this game. He struck out David Ortiz on a 96-mph two-seam fastball, freezing the Red Sox’s best hitter to lead off the half inning.
