Live Tigers blog: Tigers win big, 8-1 over Twins

Revenge, as the Klingon adage from the Star Trek franchise goes, is best served cold.

For Tigers starter Matt Boyd, who lasted only 3 2/3 innings a week ago, at home against the Twins, that was certainly true in the Tigers 8-1 win over the Twins in Minneapolis on Tuesday.

Boyd (6-4) went eight innings, allowing only a run on three hits, while striking out seven and walking one. Mark Lowe pitched a scoreless ninth inning, striking out two for the Tigers (80-70).

The Tigers scored a run in the third inning and another in the fourth, before exploding for four in the sixth and two more in the seventh.
