Live Tigers blog: Tigers add insurance run in 9th

Top 9th: Tigers 9, White Sox 7

The Tigers got a break as Jarrod Saltalamacchia was called safe after reviews showed that Todd Frazier didn't tag the catcher as he slid into third base trying to stretch a double into a triple. The ball beat Salty by a mile, but Frazier was not aggressive enough in applying the tag, apparently.

With a man 90-feet from the plate and the Tigers in desperate need of an insurance run, Mike Aviles popped up in the infield. Jose Iglesias picked his team up, though, as he and Saltalamacchia executed the suicide squeeze to perfection to make it 9-7.
