Bottom 2nd: Hamels works quickly
Rangers starter Cole Hamels worked quickly to set the Tigers down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the second. He threw 10 pitches, getting Justin Upton to fly out to right field, while Nick Castellanos (right field) and James McCann (left field) lined out. After two, the Tigers trail 2-0.
Top 2nd: Aviles miscue costs run
Tigers utility man Mike Aviles, starting in right field for J.D. Martinez (night off) took a bad route to a ball in the top of the second. With two outs and Mitch Moreland on first, Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre doubled, a ball Aviles misplayed.
