The Tigers' offense remained hot in the second.
James McCann led off the inning with a single to left field and was instantly brought home by Andrew Romine who hit a two-run homer to right field with no outs. Ian Kinsler knocked a one-out single to left, recording his second hit in as many at-bats. He was moved over to second with two outs thanks to an error by Albert Pujols who dropped a sure out on a Miguel Cabrera ground ball.
However, the error wouldn't hurt the Angels as Victor Martinez flew out to left on the first pitch to end the inning.
