Kevin McGonigle walks it off for Erie; Jaden Hamm rehabs in Flying Tigers victory

Wilkel Hernandez’s outing was decent, but there wasn’t much the pitching staff could do as the Hens managed just five hits on the night.

Hernandez allowed a baserunner in every inning, but he kept the Indians off the board until the fifth. There he allowed three straight singles and two runs before giving way to right-hander RJ Petit, who was promoted from Double-A today. Petit rarely gives up home runs, but his second pitch at the new level was a 1-0 slider at the bottom of the zone, and it was golfed out to left by Billy Cook for a two-run shot.
