Kansas City 12, Detroit 1: Tigers get a Royal spanking

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – They went out to leftfield. Centerfield. Left-centerfield. Off the wall in rightfield and into the gap in right-centerfield.

They went everywhere tonight, these baseballs the Royals were hitting hard, to all fields, everywhere, it seemed, except into the fountains at Kauffman Stadium.

First, Randy Wolf was blown out. Then, Guido Knudson. And after nine innings, the Tigers were, too. They lost, 12-1, to the Royals.

Miguel Cabrera didn't stick around to watch. He was ejected in the fourth inning for arguing balls and strikes after a called third strike.

And Wolf didn't stick around much longer, either, hooked half an inning later after allowing eight earned runs on eight hits over 3 2/3 innings.
