Justin Verlander's gem spoiled, Astros reliever punches himself in disgust

Ken Giles figured one knockout punch deserved another.

The Houston Astros reliever surrendered a three-run homer to Gary Sanchez in the ninth inning Tuesday night, which broke a scoreless tie, propelled the New York Yankees to victory and spoiled a spectacular outing from Justin Verlander.

So, naturally, Giles was a little upset at himself.

It's usually the just the Gatorade cooler that gets the brunt of a pitcher's anger. Not this time.

After the game, Giles owned his mistake to the Yankees catcher.
