ANAHEIM, Calif. – It took just one game.
The Tigers tread water throughout the first month and a half of the season, suffering an injury or three, waiting patiently for J.D. Martinez to return from a lengthy injury and make their lineup whole.
And when it’s whole, like it is now, it’s a potent force of power.
In his second game of the season, Martinez hit two home runs. The second, a game-winning solo shot over the high wall in right-centerfield to beat the Angels, 4-3, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
With the win, the Tigers are once again above .
